Cody grew up in West Texas (Lubbock) and was introduced to
motorcycles at the age of 5.  Both of his parents rode and
they wanted to share that passion with their son. The first
bike he owned was something called a "Green Hornet." It had
a lawnmower engine and his father had to start it for him. As
many young boys, his next motorcycle was a dirt bike that he
took on family vacations in New Mexico and Colorado. He and
his father both had dirt bikes and they spent many hours
exploring new territories together. (Cody still has his first
dirt bike)

Cody took the motorcycle safety course in the summer of 1984 at the age of 15. Soon thereafter he had his first street bike. Cody
and his father took long road trips together and got to know fellow bikers. He developed a new found respect for two wheels and
the people that rode them. "I remember meeting all of those people at the gas pumps over the years and the one thing I will never
forget is that envy in their eyes. Someone always had an uncle that knew a guy that owned a motorcycle, and you could tell - they
wanted one too. It was, and still is AWESOME."

While in Texas, Cody was unaware of the Harley Owners Group and he mostly rode with close friends and family. That all changed
when Cody left his home state and moved to Atlanta, Georgia. While in Georgia, Cody wanted to meet new people and have someone to
ride with. "I went to the local Harley shop and started asking around. A few people asked if I was a member of HOG. I had no idea
what they where talking about and went home to looked it up online." Cody joined the Stone Mountain HOG chapter and rode with
them while he lived in Atlanta.  After a few years Cody moved back to Texas and while he was glad to be on native soil, there was
something missing. "I missed all the activities, the group rides and meeting new people." Cody joined the Longhorn chapter and spent
the next two years riding with them.

It wasn't long though before Cody's career took him to Memphis, Tennessee. While in Memphis, Cody joined the Memphis HOG
chapter and enjoyed riding with them and making new friends. "I rode with the Memphis chapter for two years and also served as a
road captain for them during that time." In the fall of 2007 Cody heard rumors that the Bumpus family might start a new chapter
at their Collierville location. "I was thrilled to learn that I might have the opportunity to help a new chapter evolve into something
special." Cody recently relocated to Collierville to be closer to his Ghost River family members. He has a wonderful wife, one cat, a
step daughter and a grandson.

Cody is currently the Webmaster for the Ghost River HOG Chapter and looks forward to an exciting and rewarding year with all of
the chapter members.
